MARCUS LITMAN 

University of Guelph in January 2003 to take a position as Staff Veterinarian for Animal Care Services. He is a Past President of the Canadian Association of Laboratory Animal Medicine (CALAM) and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Science (CALAS).

Dr. Litman graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Canada in 2000 and spent 2.5 years working in small animal practice before moving to the University of Guelph in January 2003 to take a position as Staff Veterinarian for Animal Care Services. In 2005 he became Veterinary Director, with veterinary responsibility for all animals used in research and teaching by the University. In 2007 he completed a Graduate Diploma in Laboratory Animal Science at the Ontario Veterinary College.  He is a Past President of the Canadian Association of Laboratory Animal Medicine (CALAM) and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Science (CALAS) and the Governing Board of the International Council for Laboratory Animal Science (ICLAS). Most recently he assisted the Office of Research in the re-organization and re-envisioning of the Animal Care Services Department and sits as co-Director of that unit. His interests include anesthesia, analgesia and environmental enrichment of laboratory animals, training of animal users and public education surrounding the use of animals in science.
