Is a president of Laboratory Animal Center in Osong Medical Innovation Foundation (KBIO) which is affiliated with the Organization of Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), Korea. He and his colleagues support new drug and medical device development process by testing animal compatibility, medical device performance, and biological safety at KBIO. He has contributed greatly to the development of experimental animal research as a president of the Korean Association for Laboratory Animal Science (KALAS, 2013.9-2015.8). In particular, he has established non-human primate research with a national primate research center in Korea and supports the development of new drugs for the efficacy and safety test by using common marmoset and macaque monkey. He also studies the humanized mouse, which is a mouse with functioning human genes, cells, tissues, and organs. Dr. Hyun is currently contributing to laboratory animal science as the current vice president of International Council for Laboratory Animal Science (ICLAS).
